For Todd Nicklaus, age 61, staying active and healthy is about maintaining the ability to enjoy life’s adventures. As a banking executive, husband and father of three adult children, Todd wanted to ensure he and his wife, Camille, could continue traveling and staying active for years to come.

When he learned about Elevé’s Vitality program, he was intrigued by its holistic approach to health optimization.

“I’ve always believed in mind over matter,” Todd shares. “But in my late 50s and early 60s, I started experiencing aches and pains I hadn’t had before. I was finding it harder to keep weight off and couldn’t do some of the things I used to enjoy. That’s when I knew I needed to take a different approach.”

A Science-Backed Approach to Wellness

When Todd and Camille joined the Vitality program, they were looking for more than just a diet or exercise plan—they wanted a deeper understanding of how their bodies were changing and what they could do to stay ahead of it.

“The testing was probably the most interesting piece for me,” Todd explains. “Learning about visceral fat accumulation and how it specifically affects people of European descent at my age was eye-opening. My general physician wouldn’t have provided that level of detail, and I would have had to do a lot of research on my own to understand it.”

For Camille, the program uncovered a significant health issue that might have otherwise gone undetected. “They found that she had an unusually high level of iron due to a small gland issue,” Todd says. “Had we not been in the program, that wouldn’t have been caught. She got it surgically corrected, which was a huge benefit.”

The Power of Awareness and Accountability

One of the Vitality program's most impactful aspects for Todd has been the awareness it has given him about his habits.

“I’ve always been able to eat whatever I wanted and balance it out with exercise,” Todd admits. “But that started to change. I needed to figure out how to adjust. The program helped me look at my diet and exercise differently, not in a restrictive way, but in a way that made sense for long-term health.”

Todd also appreciated the coaching and accountability built into the program. “They’ve done a great job bringing in credible experts. The coaching is solid, and they don’t sugarcoat things,” he says. “I actually prefer when they push me—it’s what coaching is for. If I’m off track, I want to know so I can fix it.”

Tangible Health Improvements

Since joining the program nearly four years ago, Todd has seen measurable results. “My muscle mass has increased, which is unusual for my age, and my visceral fat has gone down,” he notes. “My blood work has improved, too.”

Sleep has also been a major area of improvement. “I’ve always been a light sleeper, but using the Oura Ring and learning about sleep hygiene has been a game changer,” Todd says. “I now understand what factors impact my sleep, like avoiding food after 7 PM, sticking to a routine and giving myself time to wind down before bed. It used to take me an hour and a half to shut my mind off at night, but now I have a process that helps me sleep much better.”

A Commitment to Lifelong Health

For Todd, the Vitality program is about setting himself up for a future filled with the things he loves. “My dad always told me to travel as much as I could before I was too old to enjoy it,” Todd recalls. “That stuck with me. I want to be able to keep doing the things I love for as long as possible.”

Thanks to Elevé’s Vitality program, Todd and Camille have the tools, knowledge and support they need to continue living life to the fullest.

Bringing Functional Medicine to IncredibleBank’s Executive Team

Todd’s story is unique in that he brought that same personal wellness mindset to his executive team at IncredibleBank. Understanding that leadership sets the tone for workplace culture, he saw an opportunity to integrate wellness into the company’s core values.

The Executive Program at Elevé became a key part of that vision. One of the most notable successes came last year when an executive lost a significant amount of weight in preparation for his son’s wedding. More than just a short-term goal, he committed to maintaining his progress and has successfully kept the weight off. Other executives have embraced the program in ways that best fit their own lives, creating a culture where wellness is prioritized.

While the impact isn’t easily measured in numbers, Todd sees the results in focus, engagement and overall energy within the leadership team. At least six executives have participated so far, not because it’s required, but because they believe in it.

At IncredibleBank, the message is clear: family and health come first. “When leaders live by that philosophy, the entire organization benefits,” Todd shares.

Advice for Others

For those hesitant about the cost of a wellness program, Todd Nicklaus sees it as a matter of priorities. “It’s a trade-off,” he says. “You could spend money on cocktails after work or extra meals out, but if you commit to better living, the cost feels less like a burden.”

From a business perspective, the case is even stronger. Investing in wellness means investing in people—an organization’s most valuable resource. When a company shows it cares about its employees’ well-being, it fosters loyalty, motivation and engagement.

“It builds a deeper connection,” Todd explains. “When employees see that their company is willing to invest in them, they’re more dedicated in return.”
